Obituary of Patricia Anne Schmidt

SCHMIDT, Patricia Anne (STARK), age 89, of Holtsville, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Born on April 23, 1935 to the Late George David Stark and the Late Elizabeth Augusta Stark (nee Clark) in Jamaica, Queens, NY. Soon after graduating from Jamaica High School.

In 1957, she married her husband of 47 years, Robert Schmidt. They settled in Holtsville in 1963 and raised their children there. While in Holtsville, the family grew to eight children. Pat retired from Federal service having worked for the Treasury Department and the Social Security Administration. Patricia enjoyed visits from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, reading, gardening, sewing, and working on her miniature doll houses. She also enjoyed genealogy and learning about her ancestors. She was active in St. Sylvester's Parish and taught catechism for many years. She was a member of the Farmingville Historical Society for a time period.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, her Beloved Husband, the Late Robert Ethridge Schmidt, and children; Son Matthew Schmidt and Daughter Gail Schmidt. Dear Sister of David (Carol) Stark. Loving Mother of Robert (Marsha) Schmidt, Jr., George (Danette) Schmidt, Joanne (Michael) Condon, Kathleen Schmidt, Diane (Barry) Diaferia and Linda (Kenneth) Hartt.

Cherished Grandmother of Jennifer, Christine, Christopher, Kevin, Meagan, Kael, Jessica, Valerie, Nicholas, Kyle, Kenneth, Josey, Victoria, Elizabeth and Laura. Adored Great-Grandmother of Landon, Sawyer, Savannah, Aiden, Cade and Matthew. Survived also by numerous loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM & 7:00 -9:00 PM at the McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horseblock Road, Medford, NY 11763. There will be a Prayer Service at the Funeral Home during the Visitation at about 3:30 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 with Rev. James Wood officiating.

A Funeral Service will take place at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 9:15 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Church of the Resurrection, 50 Granny Road, Farmingville, NY with Rev. James Wood officiating. Interment will folllow at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY.

Our family would like to express our thanks to the Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson, New York for their love and support given to Patricia during her stay.
