Obituary of Gerard Angelo Genova
Gerard Angelo Genova, 69, of Easton, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 19th, 2025.
Jerry is survived by the pride of his life, his sons, Matthew Genova and Christopher Genova; his daughter in laws Leigh-Ann Genova and Nicole Genova; he was "Pops" to his four grandchildren; Mariella, Ryan, Eric, and Olivia; and loving brother of four siblings; Brian Genova and wife Alicia, Donna Jetter and husband Peter, Maura Tylee and husband Bob, Michael Genova and wife Terri, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Carmine Genova; mother Teresa Genova (Hughes); and his beloved grandfather, Angelo Genova.
Jerry was born in Glen Cove, NY on May 3rd, 1955 to Carmine and Teresa Genova. He was the oldest of five children.
Jerry was a proud self-taught cable engineer, with over 40 years in the industry, primarily at Cablevision. He began his career as a cable technician, climbing poles and installing service. With a tireless work ethic and brilliance of ingenuity, Jerry's career flourished, holding titles of Chief Engineer, Vice President of Engineering, and ultimately the Executive Vice President of Field Operations and Network Operations at Cablevision. Jerry appreciated the difficulty presented in the most complex of circumstances. He savored the opportunity to face any challenge.
Jerry loved sports, growing up playing football, baseball, and basketball. Some of his fondest memories were at Shea Stadium where he was a season ticket holder of the New York Jets. On a leisurely day, Jerry enjoyed boating, particularly around his Center Moriches home, and riding his motorcycle - anywhere fast.
