Obituary of Dorothy Loretta Denonn
Dorothy Loretta Denonn of Medford NY, was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, retired Patchogue-Medford school teacher and avid traveler, passed away on August 26 th , 2025 at the age of 84.
Born on September 30, 1940, to the late Joseph and Dorothy Uhorchak, Dorothy was raised with a love of learning and exploration that shaped her life and career. She dedicated her professional life to education, inspiring generations of students with her patience, wisdom, and genuine care. Her 30+ years in the Patchogue Medford School District had her teaching at Medford, Eagle and Tremont elementary schools. Retiring in 1997. Outside the classroom, Dorothy found joy in traveling the world, always seeking new experiences and perspectives.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved children: her son George Denonn and his wife Katherine, and her daughter Christine Raglievich and her husband Bob. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Marc, Allison, Scott, and Samuel (children of George and Katherine), and to Robert and Daniel (children of Christine and Bob). She is also survived by her brother Michael Uhorchak and her sister Anita Brundage.
In the spirit of her lifelong commitment to learning and service, Dorothy will be donating her body to science, as did her parents before her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched—as a teacher, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, and a friend.
Dorothy's Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, September 27 2025 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at the McManus Funeral Home 2084 Horseblock Rd Medford NY 11763.
There will be a prayer service at 3:00 PM at the funeral home on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
