Margaret Zakar, age 100, of Medford died Monday, September 15, 2025 at Luxor Nursing And Rehabilitation of St. James, NY.  Mrs. Zakar was born May 16, 1925 in Liverpool, England. She is the daughter of the late James Healy and the late Catherine (Stafford) Healy.  She was predeceased by her husband, Algy J. Zakar on 11/20/1988. 

She is survived by two daughters: Maryann Zakar and Katherine Danler, her son-in-law Gary Danler and her daughter-in-law Gail Zakar; She also has six grandchildren – Robert, Samantha, Dustin, Daniel, Chris and Carrie; and one great-grandchild, Lucy.

Margaret is predeceased by her husband Algy, her son, Richard Zakar,and her son-in-law Robert.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 4:00 - 8:00PM at the McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY.

A prayer service will be held 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Friday, September 19, 2025 at St. Sylvester R.C. Church, 68 Ohio Avenue, Medford, NY.  Burial will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton , NY.
