Obituary of Doris Freidah

Doris Freidah, born July 22, 1936, in New York, NY, passed away on November 19, 2025, in Englewood, Colorado. She was 89 years old.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and for approximately 20 years a devoted teacher’s aide. She shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband, Francis Freidah, who passed away in 2003.

She is survived by her brother, James Fitzgerald, and his wife Gloria; her children, James Freidah (Sarah), John Freidah (Betsy Angeletti), and Jean Gruenewald (Mark); her grandchildren, Alexander Freidah, Andrew Freidah, Stephen Gruenewald, Christian Gruenewald, Nicholas Gruenewald, and Desilucia Freidah; and her great-granddaughter, Thayer Freidah.

Doris will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit, her dedication to family, and the guidance and encouragement she extended to the many students whose lives she touched. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, 33 Crown Acres Rd, Centereach, NY.  Entombment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram on Friday, December 5, 2025.
