Julius Panetta, age 82, of Holtsville, NY died Saturday, January 17, 2026. Julius was born May 10, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY. Beloved husband of Carol Panetta, father to Deborah Chapman & Matthew Panetta, and “Papa” to Michael & Lauren Chapman, Matthew Chapman, & Nicholas Panetta. Julius is also survived by his son-in-law Michael Chapman and his brothers Vito Panetta & Joseph Panetta. A kind-hearted and outgoing man, Julius was known for his witty sense of humor and was quick with a joke to make light of any situation. An excellent baseball player growing up in Ozone Park, Queens, Julius was an avid New York sports fan, and he was known to enjoy his newspaper puzzles such as sudoku and the crossword. Julius also proudly served his country from 1960-1963 in the 1st Bn, 87th Inf Rg, 3rd U.S. Army. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 -9:00 pm at the McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the Church of The Resurrection, 50 Granny Road, Farmingville, NY. Burial with honors will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
