Arthur J. McFarlane, Age 83, of Gainesville, FL, formerly of West Sayville & Red Creek, NY after a brief illness November 4, 2014. Predeceased by his wife Laurie (nee Snowden), sister Agnes, and brother Bill. Survived by sister Dolores Cook, of Bronx, NY; sister-in-law Nancy of Patchogue; and brother Raymond (Carolyn) of San Diego, CA. Also survived by children Susan (David Finger Allan) of Orlando, FL; Linda (Peter Dalmer) of Hyde Park; Arthur P. (Sherri) of Newcastle, DE; Thomas of Oxford, ME; Rosemarie (William F. Wood III) of Medford; Patricia (Doug Wimsatt) of Edgewater, FL and Maureen (Ron Anderson) of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren Kathryn (Timothy Stewart) of Winter Garden, FL & James (Kimberly Allan) of Orlando, FL; Karen (Patrick Sheehy) of Hyde Park; John P. (Samantha) of Bear, DE; Jennifer of Newcastle, DE; Michael of Norway, ME; & Robert (Angela) of New Haven, CT; Nicole (Andy Polland) of Willow, AK; Kayla Wood of Medford; Alexandra Wood of Gainesville, FL; Derek, Austin & Alyssa Ratcliffe of Edgewater, FL; and Sean of Gainesville, FL ; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kristin, & Karynn Stewart, Nathan, Matthew, & Lucas Allan; Molly & Aidan Sheehy; Hunter Thomas McFarlane, Alden Polland; and cousins, nieces & nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Lawrence R.C. Church, Sayville, NY on Nov. 22, at 10:15 AM with interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery and reception at the West Sayville Fire Dept. to follow. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Art McFarlane was a retired North Babylon teacher and coach; a member of the West Sayville Fire Dept.; a 4th Degree Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus; a member of the St. Lawrence Holy Name Society; and the B.
