Austin, Paul J. January 31, 1961- December 18, 2017 Beloved husband to Susan Austin and father of Samantha R. Driscoll and Jeff, Nicole E. Austin, Anthony J. Parr and Alyson, Jennifer M. Parr and Craig, Grandfather to Ryan Austin Driscoll and cherished son of mother in law Esther J. Balestrieri. Born in England to Edward E. Austin and Amelia Austin, raised in Massachusetts Paul was a highschool football player who graduated and went on to serve in the US Navy, USS Lapon SSN 661. He enjoyed a successful career in nuclear and gas power, where he made many lifelong friends. Remembered as an animal lover, avid fisher, rooster collector and sports fan who was appreciated for being thoughtful, kindhearted and for making a connection with everyone he came into contact with. Forever in our hearts. Services will be held Saturday, December 23rd at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home 2084 Horseblock Road, Medford, NY 11763 from the hours of 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. He will have a burial at sea in honor of his service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Paul to the ASPCA or the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
