Tonight on the 12th anniversary of my uncle’s passing I was at a wake for yet another wonderful veteran that was a big part of my life growing up. As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to love and appreciate the people that were put in my life. Everything happens for a reason right? Family by definition is something you are born into but people that treat you like family are truly a blessing. Uncle Gilberto Aragones did just that. I’m lucky to have known and to be loved by Mugs just as I was one of his own. Always with the most welcoming greeting. If he was making a mug at you it was to get you to laugh otherwise it was always a welcoming smile. I hope you are up there Mugs making faces at everyone and enjoying a nice chat with DiDi. Be at peace now your family is and will be okay love toots

Berto, Mr. A, my birthday buddy. There was no one quite like you! You made me feel like a part of your family for the past 26 years. I have so many wonderful memories of Sachem football games with you, dinners around your table where you would threaten to make me eat pigs feet, and you making breakfast for Jen and I after our countless sleepovers. In the beginning you referred to me as Jen’s loud, blonde friend but then you started calling me sweetie and then your Moe! You were one of the few people in my life that I let call me Moe because it was always paired with that amazing smile of yours. I know you will watch over your wife, your children, and your grandchildren for the rest of their days. If you can put in a good word to send our Jen some extra blessings from up there that would be great. Rest peacefully.
