IN LOVING MEMORY:

Margaret Valera - A Daughter, A Sister, An Aunt, A Mother, A Nana & A Friend Till The End Of Time. Margaret Valera “Peggy” born December 12, 1952, passed away November 21, 2022 from complications of cancer. She was predeceased by her husband Miguelito Valera, her brother Michael Brophy, her parents Joseph and Frances Brophy and her nephew John Brophy. She will be missed by her nephew Michael Brophy, Katie Brophy and Devin Brophy. She is survived by her two daughters Veronica Valera and Tara Price and her beloved granddaughter Veronica Price. Also, by her brother John Brophy and sister Patricia Costigan. She will be missed by her niece and nephew Christine and George Schmitt and her great nephew Christopher Schmitt. Peggy was born and raised in Manhattan before moving out to Long Island and was the youngest of four. Peggy worked as an agent for the Social Security Department for over 30 years before retiring. She was the editor of the Gazette for 20 years along with her good friend, Mary Desjeunes. Her many hobbies included playing Mah jong, playing Bocce and gardening. Peggy also loved to travel. Although she loved all animals, she was a cat person. Her current feline friends are Romeo and Amber. She will be missed not only by her family but also her many friends.
