I will always remember the way that my aunt Joan’s smile lit up the room. She was such an amazing person, very kind, caring, loving, and most of all selfess. Always when you needed her or someone to talk she was the go to, I am forever grateful to be her niece. I remember all the phone calls that would go on for hours! Whenever I needed someone she was there, no matter the vast distance between us. I recall that whenever we spoke she always told me if I should ever need a recipe to just ask, (of course she was the best cook I knew) and I remembered my dad always making pasta fazool it was one of my favorites but I had never learned how to make it, with him gone I wanted to make it one more time so I could share that experience with my friends, thankfully my aunt Joan came in as my hero and was able to walk me through it and it was just perfect when it was done. I wish I could have packed a bowl and shipped it there for her to try! She was one of the best people in the world, and I know she left a impact on whoever got to meet such a wonderful woman like herself, and taste her cooking. I love my aunt with all my heart. I send my condolences to my 3 beautiful cousins and hope they all know how much I love them.
