Rebecca Rose of Medford, NY and San Jose, CA died after a short struggle with illness, on December 17th, 2023. Rebecca Rose (nee Marini), age 92, of Medford, NY. Rebecca was born on December 16th, 1931 in Greenville, PA. Beloved wife of Edward Rose. Devoted mother of Karen (Carmine) and Eddie. Cherished Grandma of Dominick (Nathaniel), Kaitlin (Brian), Emily, Holly (Jacob) and Anthony. Great Grandmother to Philomena, Cole and Giuliana. Much loved sister to Cornelia, John and Vincent. Preceded in death by parents Domenico and Margaret and siblings Ernest, Gloria, Angeline, Mary, and Lee Becky lived for her family. She loved going on adventures--especially with her daughter Karen. We all visited and traveled together in CA, FL and NY, traipsing across national parks (one of my favorite lines was when she arrived at Joshua Tree National Park incredulous that there were “no rides”). Most often you could find her eating out, sitting and talking. She could be grouchy and negative but lovable and hilarious, and ultimately grateful and giving. We’ll greatly miss the loving energy that somehow shone through her sour face. Rest easy Beck. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Patchogue, NY.
