Francis J. Connolly, Sr., of Medford, NY, died on June 3, 2024, age 94. Devoted
father of Francis J. Connolly, Jr. (Holly) of Stamford, Connecticut and Eugene M.
Connolly of Sag Harbor, New York. He was predeceased by his first wife of 12 years and her name was Jane (Hardy) Connolly and his second wife of 49 years Janet (Heffernan)
Connolly.
He was born on March 4, 1930, in Manhattan, NY to proud Irish immigrant parents.
He recovered from polio as a young boy. Throughout his life, he did not let the
lingering effects prevent him from living to the fullest. He enjoyed keeping current
on politics and used his computer tech skills to experiment with the latest equipment
even in retirement. An employee of Northrop Grumman for many years, Francis was
a computer equipment technician. We always admired his perseverance, confidence
and drive.
Francis was predeceased by his father Thomas Connolly, his mother Catherine (McDonagh) Connolly,
brothers James, Eugene, Thomas and sister Mary. In addition to his sons, he is survived by grandchildren
Thomas Connolly (Gabrielle), Kathryn Connolly, Lauren Connolly, and Brian Connolly (Emma), great-
grandchildren Porter, Rogan and Nora Connolly, his brother-in-law James Heffernan (Kathryn), sister-in-law
Marilyn Wallis (John), nephews Troy Heffernan (Alex) and Kyle Heffernan, niece Joyce Walsh (Colin),
nephew Jim Wallis (Sara), great nieces Shannon Walsh and Ashley Wallis and great nephew William Walsh.
Family to receive friends Wednesday, June 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at McManus-
Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horseblock Road, Medford, NY. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on
Thursday, June 6 at St. Sylvester Roman Catholic Church, 68 Ohio Avenue, Medford, NY. Burial to follow
at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, NY.
