Jimmy & I met 60 years ago in Santa Fe. We became close friends almost immediately. He was in my wedding in 1969 & I attended his &AnneMaries wedding in the early 70’s. I also remember eating egg plant for the first & only time at their reception.
Jimmy was very proud of his Italian heritage. As I said before, Jimmy was the most loyal person I ever met. Even though we didn’t see each other as often as we had liked, due to how far we lived from each other, we always stayed in contact with each other, especially the last 10 years. We either talked by phone or communicated via messenger 3 or 4 times per month. If we talked by phone, we both always ended with these 2 words, “love ya”.We had very similar concerns & beliefs. We would talk about our families & of course, politics. Jimmy was our Senior class President in college & I was his V.P. Jimmy, myself & Dennis Kennedy had a special bond since our college days.
Anne Marie & the girls must stay strong. Cherish the memories. We will all miss him very deeply.

Q: How did you meet James?
A: I am so heartbroken to hear about Jimmy’s passing .
I remember the first time when I met Jimmy at his future in-laws (my beloved Aunt Mabel and Uncle Carmine) home in Brooklyn. Jimmy had a striking resemblance to a young cool Neil Sedaka and Anne Marie my cousin (his then girlfriend) reminded me of “That Girl” Marlo Thomas . I thought how great it was to have two cool cousins ! I knew they would make a perfect couple.
Through the years we kept in touch by attending each other’s family milestones . I especially enjoyed when Jimmy and Ann Marie would come and watch and support my daughter’s shows . Jimmy and I would occasionally brag about our talented artistic kids . Jimmy was a loving caring dad and was very proud of his two daughters accomplishments .
My fondest memory of Jimmy was when we worked in retail together and he would reach out to me . I was having a tough time working there and he would take me to lunch and he’d say “ just hang in there kid “.
Jimmy’s kindness, respectfulness, and great sense of humor with that sincere smile will always remain in my heart and memory . We will miss him very much.
My dearest cousin Ann Marie , Monica and Jessica all our love and prayers are with you at this difficult time .

Q: How did you meet James?
A: Jimmy and I met through the deli business. He was always such a good soul . He was a man of integrity and honesty. He called me about 14 years ago and was inspirational to create a deal that put me in the store I’m in now. It turned out to be my best yet and I will forever greatful. I will truly miss is occasional phone calls , his visits to my store to drop off a calendar every year . Such a big loss of a tremendous human being. I will miss him . Fly with the angels Jimmy ! You were such a positive influence in my life!
