June Jeanette Maier 84 of Peshtigo, WI passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, August 7, 2015, in Marinette, WI. She was born on June 12, 1931, to the late George and Mabel (Bellin) Cairns in Menominee. On March 28, 1980, June married John E. Maier Sr. in New York; he preceded her in death on March 13, 2012.She had worked as a therapist at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center for 20 years. June is survived by four daughters: Judi (Doug) Stevenson, Connie (Dan) Lamont, Linda Traut, and Lori (Tony) Balleta; stepchildren: Kathy (Tom) Rodkey, Ann Marie (Mark) Wynn, Meledi (Patricia) Maier, John (Michele) Maier III, Stephen (Lisa) Maier, Gary (Jenny) Maier; 8 siblings; 34 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Lynn Nikolaus; her step children: Colleen McKinney, Bernadette Morin, Kenneth and Michael Maier; and 2 siblings. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 12th from 2-4pm at the McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY where she and her husband lived. June will be laid to rest in the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY beside her beloved husband, John. In lieu of flowers, June’s family requests donations in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, The Rainbow House, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Alzheimer's Disease or a cancer research charity of your choice.
