Obituary of Dolores Anita Lynch

Mrs. Dolores Anita Lynch, age 83, of Medford, NY died Friday, November 20, 2015 at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in East Patchogue, NY. Dolly, as she was known, was born in Mineola, NY to Forest and Gwendolyn Teachout. Dolly lived on Long Island her whole life -- sometimes in Nassau County, sometimes in Suffolk County. She live in too many towns to list. Dolly and her sister Jesse were always supportive of each other. Dolly loved to sing, having a beautiful voice -- she sang everywhere. I have fond memories of Dolly and Jesse dancing the lindy. Dancing was how their parents met -- Dolly loved to dance. Dolly is survived by her younger sister Jesse. Jesse now lives in Florida. Dolly's first Mother's Day gift was her daughter Michele -- born on Mother's Day. Dolly is survived by her children Michele, Margreth, Forest and Frank. As a younger woman, raising her family, Dolly enjoyed Long Island's outdoors; walking everywhere, swimming, camping, and especially fishing. Sometimes she would be the only woman on the boat pulling in the striped bass, bluefish or blackfish. Then she would bring them home to cook. And boy could she cook! Dolly was so very proud of being a grandmother and a great grandmother. She loved dearly each and every one of them -- here on earth as well as those who now greet her in heaven. Arrangements are entrusted to McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Waverly cemetery in Holtsville, NY.
