Pauline Maggio, 83, of Holtsville, N.Y. passed away on April 28, 2016 surrounded by her family. Loving wife of 61 years to John Maggio. Mother of Gerald (Joan), Stephen (Shelley), and Lisa (Andrew). Grandmother of Stephanie, Eric, David, Michael, Emily, Christopher, Olivia and Dana. Pauline’s first-great grandchild is due in September. Born June 1, 1932 in Pueblo, Colorado to Philip and Pauline Pantleo, she was the youngest of 8. Pauline grew up on a farm and met her husband at a church dance while he was stationed in the Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colo. Pauline was a homemaker and part-time caregiver to Marci Rose who became a second daughter. Pauline worked for 18 years at the NY State Department of Transportation. John and Pauline enjoyed traveling throughout their marriage. In retirement, Pauline volunteered at the Thrift Shop and Food Pantry for St. Sylvester R. C. Church. Cross-stitch and knitting were favorite hobbies. Pauline found great joy in knitting blankets and caps for babies in the neo-natal ward of several hospitals. All who knew Pauline loved her because she always had a spirit of giving to others. Pauline’s greatest joy was in spending time with her grandchildren and family.
