Obituary of Christine L. Brown
Christine Brown was born on October 21,1951 to Corean and Nesba Brown in Beckville, Texas. She came to know God early at the Chapel Spring Baptist Church where she was baptized. After graduation from Beckville High School in 1970, Christine attended Dowling College in Oakdale, NY where she received a Bachelor’s of Arts in elementary education. She continued her education receiving a Master’s Degree focusing on special education from Adelphi University. Upon graduation, she planted in fertile ground in New York. Christine was granted her teacher’s certificate and permanent tenure from the Central Islip School District where she taught until she retired. Christine enjoyed working with her elementary students at the Central Islip elementary schools.
Christine loved serving and volunteering in her community including fundraising to support various causes. Charity began at home with Chrissie growing up the youngest of ten children. Her hobbies were cooking, bowling, and reading. Christine’s greatest joy was raising and supporting her daughter, Lorraine, in her endeavors.
Christine was preceded in death by her mother and father, one sister and three brothers: Willie Mae Jinks, Curtis Brown, Clyde Brown and Lorenza Brown.

Christine leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Lorraine Brown; three sisters, Barbara Roberts (Roy) of New York, Oretta Williams of Texas and Evelyn Jackson (MacArthur) of Texas; two brothers, William Brown and Nesba Brown Jr. both of Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews.
