Although "Uncle Jack" as we called him, was not actually our uncle - he was the closest thing my Dad had to a brother. It was always a treat to go upstate and visit. We listened to funny stories of their childhood together and the challenges of going to school in an Irish neighborhood with the names Giacomo and Gasper! There were many adventures, too: the time I saw a snake by the front steps and no one believed me; the time we slid halfway off the icy road in our motorhome after visiting for Thanksgiving and Uncle Jack made us all laugh about it afterwards; the time Dad and he thought it would be a good idea to get two cows for high quality/cost effective meat for the families, but none of us kids wanted to eat it after petting them and playing with them during our frequent visits!
He was a larger than life personality and will be missed!
