Obituary of Emma Hester

In memory of Emma Hester. Emma Hester died at age 56 on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Atrium Health Mercy in Charlotte, NC. Emma was born in Brooklyn Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. She was raised by her Mother Laura (Shell) Hester and her stepfather John Curtain. Emma had great compassion for people, it have her great pleasure working as a diet technician and nurse’s aide in nursing facilities. She never married but lived a good live with Bob her common-law husband. They spent 20 years together until he passed away. Although Emma could not have children, she treated her nieces and nephews as her own and left them with many beautiful memories. Emma is survived by her loving siblings; her sister Loretta and her husband Harry Norfleet; Her brother Russell Hester; Her brother Gerald Hester and his wife Kim Riley; Her sister Theresa and her husband Patrick Malone. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews; Harry, Jr., Andrea, Tyrone and the late Michael Norfleet, Russell, Jr and Michael Hester, Winter, Sonya, Nicole, Justin and the late Gerald Hester, Patrick, Jr and Kevin Malone. Emma -- the baby of the siblings, whom all of us love very much went to sleep and she is at rest for a while. Hugs and kisses to you until we all me again one day. A private cremation was held in Charlotte North Carolina. A memorial celebrating the life of Emma was held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Virginia.
