I never got the chance to meet Mike in person, but that did not stop us from maintaining a friendship that surpassed a decade. So many memories race through my mind when I think about the times we spent as a group of friends that thoroughly enjoyed the escape of reality through online gameplay of an Xbox. Some may not realize how close you can become with someone just by 'watching their six' through an online game. It was during these times that I learned a great deal about Mike, or "Pream" as we all had our calling cards. I cannot remember a time where I've felt more welcome or included as part of a group as I did when all of my brothers were online and together. Making jokes while 'saving the world', perfecting a stealth operation... (loudly), waiting on somebody to get back from a bathroom break only to hear faint snoring in the background, or just hanging out in a chat together so we could just talk about life. To my brothers, you know who you are, nothing but love being sent your way from up North. And Jenn, you amazing woman, the way Mike talked about you was like no other. He would tell me how incredibly strong and persistent you were, brag about your cooking, and how no matter what the case may be, you were there to face it head on with unmatched determination. I have nothing but love and admiration, and the highest level of respect for you. I wish I could find the words to alleviate at least a portion of your pain.
To all of my Long Island friends and family: I am terribly sorry for your loss, and again, nothing but love being sent your way from up North.
