Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary ‘Mamie’ Rizzuto Mary Rizzuto left this world on April 27, 2020 in Medford, NY. Mamie was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 26, 1916. She was the youngest in her family of four siblings: her sister Josephine and brothers Peter and Joseph. Mamie worked for many years as a seamstress in New York City. A sharp dresser, she loved fashion and going dancing at the Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan with her older sister. She lived in Brooklyn until the passing of her siblings, when she joined her nieces, Jean Romeo and Barbara Puleo, to live on Long Island. In her later years, she loved reading, shopping trips, holiday celebrations with family and caring for her favorite pet cat "Mooshie". She was also very close to her nephew's Anthony Rizzuto and John Prodan. Mamie was a smart, witty and independent woman right up until her passing at 103 years old. She spent lots of time keeping up with her youngest family members. Her niece Kristin Watson always kept her in the most up-to-date fashion with gifts from the West Coast. Her nephew and niece who now reside in her hometown of Brooklyn, Michael and Tara Romeo, loved to take her thrift shopping for her keen eye and out for pizza lunches which were her favorite. Her remarkable personality was inherited by them and cherished by all she met. She will be deeply missed, but she is surely happy to be reunited with her siblings whom she loved dearly.
