Obituary of Theresa M. Maningo

Theresa Marie (Haus) Maningo, born March 19, 1931, died peacefully on October 13, 2020, at home in Brooksville Florida, with her daughter Joyce by her side. Theresa’s devoted husband of 70 years, Joseph Maningo, died four days later. Terry met Joe at Smithtown High School. He was the older military man who sat behind her in class. After school, Joe, with his guitar, serenaded the class valedictorian. They soon wed and lived in Centereach, NY until 2018. Terry is survived by her loving children, Dennis (Anne Marie) Maningo of Tennessee and Joyce (Joseph) Maningo-Forcino of Florida, three grandchildren, Thomas Joseph-Anthony Turney of New Hampshire, Joseph Michael Forcino of Florida, and Nicole Catherine Elliot of New York, as well as great grandchildren, Jenna Nicole and Joseph Michael of Florida. Theresa is predeceased by her brother, Robert Haus and survived by his children, Bobby, Kathy, and Louise, and many more loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Terry was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and since 1969 a dedicated witness of Jehovah. Theresa was an avid gardener and landscaper. She was a true nature lover, gifted seamstress, and a talented painter. Terry enjoyed teaching and sharing these gifts with her friends and her family. Visiting hours will be Sunday, November 1 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY. A prayer service will be held 7:00 pm on November 1, 2020 at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Monday, November 2 at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton on Monday, November 2.
