Judy was as beautiful inside as she was out. Funny and loving, a pure joy to be in her company. I look back fondly on my teens, when I spent countless sleepovers at the Gerrish home—Judy always making sure we had the very best of times. She was also my confirmation sponsor; years later I would take on that role for her daughter Jess. I’ll always remember karaoke with my mom, Aunt Irene and Judy with Jason cutting in with his hysterical performances. So many fond memories of BBQs and pool parties. And always Judy smiling and laughing — her lovely presence will remain with me forever. It’s no wonder my dear departed mother loved her so very much. To Jess, Jason and Lyman— I know your pain is overwhelming; my hope is that with time you will be able to think of her with a smile first before tears. Just remember that she is with you always. And I like to think that she’s up there now, with my mom and Aunt Irene and all the Petronellis sitting around Mama’s kitchen table having coffee and cake like old times. Blessings to you all.
