Donald B. Loeffler
Donald Loeffler of Farmingville comfortably succumbed on Friday, October 21, 2022 from complications of Parkinson's Disease after a long unrelenting rehabilitation. Donald was a retired teacher of English for grades seven through ten at Sachem Central School District for 32 years and served for many years as Department Chairman. His work with the honors classes led him to teaching a SAT preparation course at local libraries. After retirement, he continued working as a consultant with BOCES.
He was a long time Lionel train buff and belonged to a local train club, the Gandydancers. His hobbies included tinkering with trains, hobby painting and playing guitar.
Donald Loeffler is survived by his wife, Regina Loeffler, and their two sons, Robert Loeffler, his wife, Alison Loeffler, children Annika Loeffler and Darren Loeffler, and brother Raymond and Dorothy Loeffler. Loeffler is outlived by four younger siblings Anton Loeffler, John Loeffler, Katherine Broadhurst, and Josephine Tullo.
Services will be held at the McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford NY, 11763, (www.mcmanuslorey.com), 631-732-1112.
Times of Showings are Tuesday October 25, 2-4pm, and with a special service at 7-9pm. Burial will transpire the following day at 11:30AM at Holy Sepulchre, 3442 Route 112, Coram NY 11727.
